About Us

Every business is different because every business owner is different. It’s part of the reason we don’t work to a one-size-fits-all business model. Instead, we’ll take the time to talk to you to help us get inside your business and inside your thinking.

I like to see our clients grow – not just in a business sense, but in a personal sense as they gain confidence in their own financial management skills. That can mean anything from someone understanding what they can and can’t use their business account to pay for – to someone expanding their business overseas and getting to grips with the tax implications and FX transactions.

Nick and I will question, we’ll reflect and, we’ll work to understand where any fears a new client has might lie, where there are frustrations and where people may have felt let down or vulnerable in the past when it comes to managing their money.

We’re careful not to shame, criticise or patronise. The people we work with are brilliant at what they do, and we have enormous respect for them. We’ll help them identify opportunities for growth and troubleshoot anything that’s getting in their way.

I see our role in our clients’ businesses as freeing them to do more of what they’re good at. We have a vested interest in their success – of course we do – but it’s more than that. It’s about doing what we’re good at and bringing that into a business and seeing people’s stress fall away. Taking away the worry and watching them flourish. Putting them in control of their finances, with our support, and helping them make their money go further.

“Since working with Gill, we have very clear systems and processes in place, which previously were quite ad hoc. This enables us to focus on business growth and development. Additionally, we now have somebody as part of our team who not only provides practical support but objective advice and scrutiny.”

I’d say we’re different because we have a professional curiosity about what our clients do. We’re not just bean counters. We like to problem-solve. We want to see our clients succeed, and to do that we need to understand their business and unravel their experiences with money so far. We want to know where they’ve come from, where they are now – and where they want to be. Basically, we’ll ask, ‘What does your business need – and how can we help you fill that gap?’

That’s where we can make a difference. Gill and I have worked across a number of sectors in our careers, which is helpful because now we support clients in all manner of jobs and industries.

We know that for some people, accounts are things to dread and shy away from – that’s why we try and take the fear way and make your finances into a thing that forms a firm foundation for you to build a thriving business on. It’s about making it all a bit more human and removing that fear.”

“I wish my maths teacher at school had explained numbers like Nick does, I’m not sure if my business turnover has trebled or quadrupled since I’ve been with him and Gill. I do know I’m attracting new clients, my scary tax stuff is up-to-date – and I can sleep at night.”
